Child Trafficking Solutions Project
This is experience is taught by SROs trained in Active Shooter Response and will be held in a school setting. This is a hands on training with simunition. Attendees will be equipped with the proper safety attire and equipment needed to safely perform the training scenarios. Scenarios will place the administrator/SRO into the stressful duty of the responding officer responding to an active shooter and will allow you to see the importance of training preparation and the split second decisions to shoot or don’t shoot.
The date of this specific training will be reflected on the conference agenda. Sessions are limited to 20 students. There will be four sessions to choose from starting at 8:30 AM and finishing around 12:00 PM. The training will require participants to engage in physical activity. Attendees will be placed into sessions on a first come first served basis. Sessions will be taught by certified trainers in active shooter response. There is an opportunity to register for this course when filling out the registration for the conference.

Award of Valor
The Award of Valor is given for a single act of courage and valor, above and beyond that expected of normal incidents/actions of the SRO/school staff member.
Big Jim Brown Community Engagement Award
Dedicated to the selfless act by Big Jim Brown for aiding the Bay Minette Police Department SRO Unit provide a hunting experience for young people through their Hourglass Camp. This award is for an individual, organization or agency that aids a SRO Unit with a community engagement program, camp or event that seeks to positively impact our youth.
Life-Saving Award
The Life Saving Award is given to a SRO/school staff member for the act of saving a life.
School Safety Partnership Award
This award recognizes school personnel that supports and further develops the SRO partnership and program. This recipient exemplifies leadership, innovation, dedication, and proactive measures to enhance the safety of the school community beyond that expected of a normal school staff member.
SRO Team Award
This award is given to recognize the "whole" team and their efforts towards school safety.
Above the Call of Duty
This award recognizes SROs that have made a specific and significant contribution to their local town, city, county, and/or school district above and beyond that expected. These honorees are nominated for continuously striving to build positive relationships with students by their peers, supervisors, school/school district, student(s), and/or faculty.
Safe School Leadership Award
This award recognizes individuals for advancement of school safety in the community or state and continuously promotes and supports the mission of TAASRO.
TAASRO seeks to honor individuals who have dedicated their careers to ensuring school safety. At the annual conference, we will recognize those retiring from service, celebrating their years of commitment and the positive impact they've had on school communities.
